We couldn’t be more excited here at Chocolaterie Stam, Ames to announce our new web presence with the addition of a e-newsletter and blog. You can check our Wordpress site frequently to find consistant updates and news at our Stam location in Ames, Iowa. This is the medium we plan to use to bring our customers up to date information on all of our great products including chocolate, gelato, and specialty coffee. Art Walk Downtown Ames – Friday June 7th. 5-8pm Stop in our shop for a wine tasting event of Prairie Moon Winery. Hang out and listen to live music! Colby Gochanour is our local piano player.
New Business to Ames Iowa – Featured in our shop on the night of the art walk will be sampling from a new shop coming to Ames. Whimze Botique will reside in the space where the Ames British food is located. It will offer clothing for women of all budgets. She will preview her collection at Stam June 7th.
Fathers Day – Sunday June 16th. Dads delight in chocolate just as much as moms. Stop in and purchase an assortment of fine European chocolates or bonbons to thank him that special man in your life. Not sure what dad wants? Make it easy and get him a Stam gift card so he can experience all Stam has to offer! Maybe he will take you with him!

When you walk through the doors of any establishment you are making a choice in the products you are consuming as well as who you choose to make the purchase from. We have a challenge to consider. When making the decision ask yourself – Could I shop local? There are many benefits to shopping local.
- Businesses pay sales tax to the city where it is located. This helps our local roads, public service, and many community activities.
- Provision of local jobs.
- Small businesses operate with other local businesses helping out the immediate economy.
This month we are featuring information about a company developed to help out small businesses. Dwolla, developed by an Iowa native, is a payment network that allows any business or person to send, request, and accept money. The best benefit is that there are no fees for transactions under $10.00. This helps small businesses avoid the fees associated with payments made with credit/debit cards. Even with out using Dwolla, paying with cash helps the store owners avoid fees. Check out their site for more information!

Milk Chocolate Carmel Bar
When you stop in to purchase our milk chocolate carmel bar a cafe breve will help compliment the sweetness of the bar. The silky texture of the cream in the breve will assist in helping to wash down the sweet carmel flavors. The bitterness that coffee offers will balance out the treat.
If wine is more to your liking then try the Marechel Foch Dry Red wine with this chocolate combination. The flavor of black cherries blended with overtones of oak will help create a well rounded flavoring.
